The Cowboy Carousel Discover Center is a nonprofit educational and cultural institution committed to serving the needs and interest of children by providing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) exhibits and programs that stimulate curiosity and motivate learning. In the coming years, as we move forward, everything will be designed to inspire children to explore, imagine, and experiment. Interactive experiences are an integral element of learning. When children are given the freedom to play, they develop life skills like curiosity, confidence, and creativity. These skills strengthen a child’s potential to excel in school, their future careers, their communities, and beyond. The Cowboy Carousel Center is excited to provide these programs to the families of Johnson County and surrounding areas.

STEAM Saturdays are the second Saturday of the month. They are free FUN hands-on workshops that explore different areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math! Students will take part in unique activities, plus create take-home projects. The workshops are designed for ages 1 through 10 years old.
There will be no STEAM Saturday in December. Instead, we invite you to join us for our holiday production of A Christmas Carol.
Our January STEAM Saturday—Winter Magic—will take place on January 10th, featuring hands‑on activities inspired by the wonders of the season.
Due to warm weather, our igloo‑building event has been rescheduled.
Cool Curiosity: STEAM Inside the Igloo will now take place on February 14th, and will include a special Valentine‑themed STEAM celebration, complete with our crowd‑favorite life‑size igloo.
Families can explore creative, winter‑inspired stations and enjoy a festive day of discovery.
Drop in anytime between 10:00 am through 2:00 pm for age-appropriate activities.
